Jonathan Ngoga is a coffee producer that sells his harvest each season to Rugali. He and his family, including nine children, live and work on 3.5 hectares of land.
For many smallholders in Rwanda, growing coffee in these regions is the cultural norm. Jonathan didn’t inherit the farm, but rather earned enough money to invest in the planting of coffee trees. His 3.5Ha are now planted with 8,000 trees, delivering an average cherry harvest of 25,000kg.
